Q: Why does a rotating brush improve carpet cleaning
performance?
A: A
rotating brush agitates the pile, releasing grit and
dust particles and the combing action of the bristles
removes hair and fibre making the vacuum
cleaner more efficient than one with suction alone.
Experts like the "Gemeinschaft umweltfreundlicher
Teppichboden" (GuT), Aachen, Germany, say that
carpets should be cleaned with a rotating brush. "Stiftung
Warentest" stated in March 1995 that cleaning
with a rotating brush delays the requirement for carpet
shampoo or spray extraction cleaning. That is why we
offer high performance electric brushes ET-H, ET-C
for SEBO canisters. Q: What does S-CLASS filtration mean?
A: "S" stands
for Schwebstoff-Filter, a filter which according to
DIN 24184 has to absorb 99.97% of particles in the
size range 0.3 - 0.5 micron. Two
tests are available. One for filters only and one for
complete machines. If a filter is tested and shown
to meet the S-CLASS standard it doesn't follow that
when fitted to a vacuum cleaner the vacuum cleaner
will also meet the standard. The independent laboratory
SLG in Chemnitz tested the SEBO automatic X, SEBO professional
G, SEBO air belt K3 and the SEBO air belt C vacuum
cleaners and found that they all reach the S-CLASS
standard
of filtration as complete machines due to a combination
of the filter materials used and their dust-tight design.
Q: When
do I have to change the filters of my SEBO?
A: There
is no specific answer to that question. The operational
life of filters depends on the amount and type
of material picked up and the usage of the machine.
Fine dust, for example like that produced by
building work, rapidly saturates the filter reducing
air
flow
and causing the bag full light to indicate even
though the bag still has capacity. In general
with normal
use we would advise changing filters every 10
- 20 bags.
Q: How do I clear a blockage?
A: Every
vacuum cleaner can block. A well designed vacuum cleaner
takes this into account and is made to be easy to unblock.
Before you look
for a blockage check the bag and/or filters do not
need changing.
